Longevity Lab

Move Better.
Feel Better.
Live Better.

Most active adults have never seen how their strength, power, balance, and mobility compare to people their age. Longevity Lab measures all four, then builds your plan to raise them, so you can keep doing what you love for decades.

For active adults from their mid-30s into their 80s.

What we measure

StrengthGrip, legs, and hips
PowerHow fast you produce force
BalanceControl on one leg and under load
MobilityHips, ankles, and spine

Tested on the same VALD force plate technology we use with all of our athletes, trusted by professional teams.

Stop guessing about how you are aging

Generic workouts miss your weak links

Without testing, it is hard to know what to train first. Most programs treat everyone the same.

Early changes go unnoticed

Power and muscle start to shift in your 30s and 40s, long before daily life feels any harder.

Feeling fine is not the full picture

How you feel matters. Numbers show what feel can miss, and give you clear targets to work toward.

You deserve to know exactly where you stand, and exactly what to do about it.

Build the four qualities that keep you active

Research links these four measures most closely to staying independent and active as you age. We test each one, then train it.

Strength

Lift, carry, and climb with ease. Grip and leg strength track closely with long-term health.

Power

React fast and catch yourself on a stumble. Power fades faster than strength with age, so we train it on purpose.

Balance

Move with confidence on stairs, trails, and uneven ground, on one leg and under load.

Mobility

Keep your hips, ankles, and spine moving freely, so you can do what you enjoy without working around stiffness.

Sample reports

See exactly where you stand

Every client gets a clear, color-coded profile. Each test is scored against a target for your age, both sides are checked for imbalances, and your priorities are named in plain language. Below are two real clients.

The read

Power and reactivity are a clear strength. The opportunity is maximal strength. A DSI of 0.81 means he already uses most of his strength when he jumps, so building strength is the most direct way to add athleticism.

Top priorities

  1. 1Hip internal rotation. 8 to 10 degrees against a 35 degree target, the biggest limit in the profile.
  2. 2Maximal strength. Mid-thigh pull near the 33rd percentile. Added strength converts straight to more jump.
  3. 3Left-side strength and power. Single-leg jump and hamstring strength both trail on the left.

The read

Leg strength is solid. Quad strength sits near the 52nd percentile and matches side to side. Grip and glute strength are the low points. Single-leg balance is even on both legs.

Top priorities

  1. 1Grip strength. Both hands sit below the 25th percentile for her age.
  2. 2Glute and inner thigh strength. Build toward the 290 N clinic goal.
  3. 3Hip internal rotation. 18 to 21 degrees against a 35 degree target.

Performance care for the rest of your life

You want to keep hiking, lifting, playing, and traveling for decades, not just get through the day. We get it. That is the same goal we train for ourselves.

“It reminded me again of how much I have appreciated and enjoyed my physical health.”

Trusted by athletes

We are the PT and Performance Partner for One Knoxville SC, and we work with professional, Division I, and high school athletes.

Measured, not guessed

We use the full VALD system of force plates and dynamometers, the same technology professional teams rely on.

Scored against your peers

Both sides of the body can lose strength with age. We compare you to people your age, not just left to right.

Specialist-led

Our team is led by a board-certified orthopedic specialist who is also a certified strength and conditioning specialist.

Getting started is simple

  1. 01

    Book a consultation

Tell us what you want to keep doing. We will help you choose the right tier.

  2. 02

    Get tested

We measure strength, power, balance, and mobility on VALD force plates and dynamometers, then send your report.

  3. 03

    Train and re-test

Follow your plan in the Bridge Athletic app, then re-test to see exactly what changed.

The more you build, the longer it lasts.

Muscle mass and fast-twitch muscle fibers start to change in your 30s and 40s, often before you notice. Fast-twitch fibers drive speed and power, the qualities that help you catch yourself on a stumble. They are also the first to fade.

The good news is that strength, power, balance, and mobility respond to training at every age. The higher you build them, the more you carry into every decade that follows. We call that your reserve. Building it is the whole point of Longevity Lab.

Everyday tasks get harder: stairs, getting off the floor, carrying groceries 354555657585 Age Physical capacity Built reserve Untrained Your margin at 80

Start with the life you want at 80

Picking up a grandchild. Hiking a steep trail. Getting up off the floor without using your hands. Traveling without worrying about stairs. We start with what you want to still be doing, work backward to the strength, power, balance, and mobility it takes, and then build more than you need.

30s to 50s

Start early

The earlier you start, the better. Build strength, power, and athleticism now, and every decade after starts from a higher level.

60s and beyond

Keep building

Your body still responds. In a well-known study, adults in their 90s nearly tripled their leg strength in eight weeks of training. Testing shows exactly what to focus on.

Your plan, on your phone

Build and Summit programs are delivered through the Bridge Athletic app. Every session is laid out for you, every exercise has a demo video, and each workout you log builds a record of your training.
