FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions.

Answers to the questions we hear most often. If you do not see yours here, give us a call and we will walk you through it.

What insurances do you take?

We are in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Humana, and Medicare. We also accept Tricare.

If you have questions about coverage or what your benefits look like, our team can walk you through it so you know exactly what to expect.

What are your cash / non-insurance rates?

For clients not using insurance, our straightforward rates are:

  • Our Expert Team of Doctors of Physical Therapy: $105 Initial Evaluation and Follow-ups
  • Owner, Paul Wilson, PT, DPT, OCS, ATC, CSCS: $115 Initial Evaluation and Follow-ups

Every session is one on one with a Doctor of Physical Therapy.

What makes PROMPT Physical Therapy different?

Traditional physical therapy can feel rushed or cookie cutter. At PROMPT, we make you the hero of your story with a personalized approach to care.

  • One on One Care: You work with a Doctor of Physical Therapy every visit.
  • Hands-On Treatment: Skilled manual therapy combined with personalized exercise.
  • Data-Driven Progress: VALD technology trusted in professional sports to measure strength, force, and track real progress.
  • Phase-Based Plans: You always understand the purpose behind what we are doing.
  • Experience: We work with active adults, competitive athletes, and runners of all levels.
Do I need a referral to start PT?

Tennessee offers direct access, which means you can come straight to us without seeing a doctor first.

Some insurance plans do require a referral, including:

  • Medicare
  • Tricare
  • Humana

If you are unsure whether your plan needs one, give us a call. We will check for you and help coordinate it so you can get started quickly.

What should I wear to my appointment?

Wear something you can move comfortably in. Shorts, leggings, joggers, t-shirts, or general workout clothing all work well.

If we are assessing a specific joint like a knee, hip, or shoulder, having that area easy to access helps us get a better look.

What can I expect during my first visit?

Your first session is focused on two things: getting a clear understanding of your symptoms or limitations, and building a plan together that moves you toward your goals.

During the visit, we will:

  • Talk through your symptoms, activity history, and training or lifestyle needs
  • Complete a full physical exam including strength, mobility, and joint function
  • Create a step-by-step plan based on your goals
  • Begin treatment with a focus on calming symptoms and restoring movement

You will leave with clarity on the plan and what the next steps look like.

How long are appointments?

Appointments are 40 minutes of one on one time with your physical therapist. You always work directly with your PT for the full session.

When additional exercise or guided work is helpful, our technicians are available to support you before or after your session.

Do you work with athletes and runners?

Yes. We work with professional athletes, Division I athletes across multiple sports, high school athletes, and competitive distance runners. We also help active adults stay strong, stay healthy, and keep doing the activities they care about.

We offer return-to-sport and performance testing using VALD technology so your readiness is based on objective data, not guesswork.

Do you offer performance, strength training, or injury-prevention programs?

Yes. We offer:

  • Running-specific strength training
  • Force-plate performance testing
  • Customized strength programs
  • Injury-prevention training for active adults and athletes

If you want to get stronger, move better, stay healthy, or perform at a higher level, we will build a clear, structured plan to get you there.
